Afternoon,
Have a question I need to put to the masses in regards to logging on to different Terminal Servers.
In the Business we currently have 3 Terminal Servers, today we had an issue with one Terminal Server going down that meant we had to change 15-20 Users over to another Server.
Now we have a mixture of Windows Machines using MSTSC(RDP) to the TS's as well as HP Thin Clients. Now when working for a previous company that were all using Windows based Machines and MSTSC I setup a shortcut that ran a VBS Script that took the currently logged on user and compared it to a Directory that contained 3 folders which were each TS and then extension-less profile name files.
It would then find which folder the particular users file was in and then launch the relevant MSTSC to the relevant IP Address (Terminal Server). This worked pretty well, the situation I currently have here is that the HP Thin Clients and a few bespoke Thing Clients have the IP Address 'hardcoded' into them as such and won't launch a VBScript.
Is there any solution/suggestion someone would have so that say I have a Terminal Server go down I could simply tell users to attempt to log back on and have it direct them to another Terminal Server?
Cheers.
