Windows Server 2008 R2 Foundation Edition RDS CALS - Required?

Hi All,

I do apologise if I my question has been answered elsewhere or if I've posted in the wrong place. Please do move this post or link me to the answer.

I have a Windows Server 2008 R2 Foundation Edition x64. It came pre-installed on a server we got from Dell. There was no additional documentation whatsoever in regards to CALs or RDS-CALs. To my knowledge, I have 15 Per User CALs already installed and activated or I am limited to 15 users.

Regardless of the technical details, does this licence model extend to Remote Desktop Services as well? I'm pretty sure it doesn't (and my own research seems to conclude this), however, I would like to confirm this before I go ahead and purchase a licence pack.

Secondly, who or where should I contact to purchase licences? I contacted Dell, and three different people didn't know what I was talking about. I was asking for Remote Desktop Services Client Access Licences. That's correct right, or are they called something else?

Any information or details anyone can provide, would be most appreciated.

Thanks!
