Remote Desktop Client 8 -- prevent color depth change

Consider the following scenario: Windows 8 client and Windows Server 2008 R2 (RD Host is 7.1). Connection occurs over internet via 3G modem.

In the RD client settings I manually set network speed as Low-speed broadband:

and 15-bit colors (in the display tab)

The problem is that when my connection is dropped (mosly not longer than 1 second) or I experience slow network within a short time (few seconds), RD client reconnects to the server, however colors are dropped from 15-bit to 256. The only workaround is to disconnect from the server and reconnect again. I'm scared from 256-color terminal. Is there any way to disable color bittness change when I experience short network issues? this problem is new for Windows 8 (with previous RD clients I never experienced such issue).

thanks in advance!
