I built a test Server 2012 system so that I could try the RemoteApp creation and hosting from a created VDI collection. I can create the collection without any problems but when the server scans the virtual disks for installed applications, it gives me an exception error stating that it could not enable Windows Firewall on the virtual machine. I am in a domain environment where Symantec Endpoint Protection (v 12.1.2) is required and installed on all virtual machines that are added to the domain. SEP turns the Windows Firewall off so that it can provide the protection, but even if it is not installed on the virtual machine, the domain group policy (I don't have permissions to change) turns the domain portion of the firewall off anyway. I'm hoping there is a way around this as I am sure that there are others who's enterprise networks require software other than Windows Firewall to monitor incoming and outbound traffic and turn it off by default. Thanks in advance for any suggestions or fixes you might have!
