Disabling User Profile Disks

I have a relatively new Server 2012 Remote Desktop Services server.  I have about 35 users that use it full time for all their work.  Since this was my first Server 2012 RDS server, I followed the TechNet articles as I was configuring the server.  It recommended implementing User Profile Disks (UPD).  I have since noticed a signficant number of errors related to UPD, the most prevalent are outlined in this article: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/winserverTS/thread/7f88b1a2-6e0d-4cdb-b598-cce696ce3255.  I am in a single RDS server environment with no immediate or long term prospects of needing to increase the number of RDS servers.  My question is this...what would be the consequences to the users if I were to turn off UPD at this point?  Would they lose their profiles and have to start again?  What other problems might occur?  Is there a good reason to continue using UPD in this environment?
