I currently have a remote desktop 2012 farm with 5 servers
First Server 'RD12-GW' is the Gateway / Session broker which is using remote.domain.com for our connection for internal and external access.. SSL is configured with trust - i also have a session collection setup for 2 of the servers as remote desktop servers and the other 2 servers on another collection as remote app servers ( i was wondering if i could just combine them into one and present either desktops or apps without have to separate them out as we have a mix of Thin Clients / Desktops / Remote Users
- for this portion of the question am i supposed to setup an internal DNS entry to point remote.domain.com at this server
- how do i configure windows xp clients to be able to access the cluster on the internal side of the network. i keep getting the issue on the inside of the network. the rdp file that was used to connect to the farm works fine when connecting from the outside. this RDP file was pulled from the remote.domain.com web apps page.
Unable to connect to terminal server - the terminal server farm rd12-gw.domain.local that you are trying to connect to is redirecting you to the server rd12-3.domain.local. Remote Desktop cannot verify that this server belongs to the same server farm. This can occur if there is a server on your network with the same name as the server farm.
- if it is an issue with the farm name how do i use a different farm name than the Web Apps name
My other question would be what is the easiest way to give access to remote users on Windows XP / 7 / 8 & also MAC users to the remote desktop Gateway / farm services
- i am having an issues figuring out what is the best approach to document to end users how to log into the system... since there are so many different ways.. should i have them log into the remoteapp webpage and use that for access to both desktops and remoteapps or should i inform them in how to setup the remote desktop gateway in the RDP settings...
The other 4 servers are Sessions Hosts which are RD12-1 RD12-2 RD12-3 RD12-4. RD12-1 / RD12-2 are the App Servers and RD12-3 / RD12-4 are the Desktop presentation servers
