Remote Desktop Connection Fails when using VPN

Hello all,

I am able to remote to a server while I am in the office on my laptop; however, if I try to remote from home on VPN I get the below error:

Remote Desktop can't connect to the remote computer for one of these reasons:

1) Remote access to the server is not enabled

2)The remote computer is turned off

3)The remote computer is not available on the network

Make sure the remote computer is turned on and connected to the network, and that remote access is enabled.

I used the below article but it did not resolve my issue:

http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/winserverTS/thread/5c8acf84-a44f-4d8e-a8e0-b9db323144bc/

This was working all day and I did not make any changes to the server before this issues occurred.  Does anyone have any other ideas that I can try to resolve this issue?

Note:

The firewall on the machine was turned off for testing.

When I am logged in through VPN I can not ping the server.
