We recently set up a Windows server on the Amazon AWS EC2 platform and added the Remote Desktop Services role.
Later we changed the server name (From amazona-jngiaas) to a more user friendly one (DGCSxxxxx) and then activated the remote desktop licence server with Microsoft and added ten RDP CAL's purchased under the Open licence agreement. The server (DGCSxxxxx) appears
to be activated correctly as do the 10 CAL's, however, frequently a pop up message appears in the system tray stating that "Licence server amazona-jngiaas is not available and TS connections will fail to connect after 107 days"
I am concerned as obviously I do not want RDP to stop working in 107 days, is this a spurious error message that can be disregarded and can I stop it by removing reference to the old server name?
