Using Windows 2008 R2 RDS Licensing server to distribute 2003 TS CAL's

We currently have a 2003 TS Licensing Server with 400 Device CAL's installed which we want to replace with a new 2008 R2 RDS Licensing Server

We havent bought any 2008 R2 CAL's yet but we're planning to upgrade later this year.

In the short term we want to continue to use the 2003 TS CAL's for our 2003 TS Servers. Can the 2008 R2 RDS Licensing Server be used to distribute the 2003 TS CAL's?
