Windows Fax and Scan Active Directory Contacts

Hi i am trying to setup Fax an scan for my users and have found a few issues:

i want my users to be able to pickup the contacts from the Active Directory search, they can see the contacts but Windows fax and scan doesn't seem to pickup the fax number from the contact object in AD, or any contact number field for that matter, does anybody know which field must be used or has successfully done this before?
