Windows Server 2012 VDI implementation question

Hello, we have 3 hyper-v servers setup for a VDI test (1 2012 Broker with RDS) and have created 2 VM collections (1 Win 7, 1 Win 8).  I can manually bring up the RemoteApp and Desktop Connections control panel and add the connection by using the RDWeb URL, however, we are trying to automate this process.

In one instance, we would like to be able to publish both VDI collections to the start menu so the user can choose which one to run.

In the other, we would like to implement a forced policy to make the machines boot and autologon to one collection.  So far we have not been able to figure out a way to accomplish either of these.

I see there is a group policy setting for Windows 8 to "Specify default connection URL", but this appears to do nothing.  We also have a Windows Embedded Standard 7 Wyse terminal that we are trying to have boot directly into a machine from one of the collection pools, but have also been unsuccessful here as well.  There is a Wyse tool that creates an XML file but I'm not sure how to use the file, etc.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
