Greetings everyone.
Here is the problem, when a user installs KB2592687 on Win7, and they run a published app, if they minimize that application, the application actually disappears from the task bar, but the connection is still alive, and we have to kill the session to disconnect the user from the server (Server 2008 R2 Standard, SP1). If we uninstall KB2592687, the problem goes away.
My understanding, is that this patch introduces RDP 8.0 to windows 7, and that this causes some issues with published apps, however, we have begun to introduce Windows 8 machines into our environment, and KB2592687 is not available on Win8, nor something we can uninstall.
The same behavior that we noticed with KB2592687 on Win7, is now happening to Win8 machines, except, this time we have no way to fix this.
Is there an update to Sever 2008 that can be installed to solve the issue? a GP change on Win8 to turn off RDP8.0? I have searched and searched, and so far i have found nothing, but the regular fixes for Win7, but nothing for win8.
