SIMPLE QUESTION: HOW TO LAUNCH LYNC 2013 AUTOMATICALLY UPON SIGN-IN TO RDWEB PAGE

I have a very simple scenario: Windows Server 2012, Remote Desktop Services enabled, and RDWeb is used (a.k.a. RemoteApp and Desktop Connection Web page). Full Office 2013 is installed (including Lync 2013). Users are opening RDWeb page, sign-in and can launch any application they entitled to. Single Sigh-On works amazingly well on 2012 with SSL certificate - no more pop-up for anything. Just click and launch. Absolutely amazing and fantastic!

Now here is an interesting challenge/question: how to make Lync 2013 start automatically upon sign-in to RDWeb page.

Objective: have Outlook 2013 showing Lync chiclets without need to manually start Lync client.

I already tried using Group Policy setting "Start a program on connection" pointing to Lync.exe file. This did not work, most likely because this setting takes effect when user is logging in to the full desktop (Explorer.exe) and not RDWeb page.

My last resort (even though it is not most elegant workaround) will be replace publishing of Outlook 2013 with pointer to CMD file (or .BAT file) where I can start Lync.exe and then Outlook.exe so they start together upon Outlook launch). What I don't like here is the fact that black window will pop-up reminding old days (MS-DOS :-). Yes I know I can start it minimized (start /min) but still trying to find more elegant solution.

Is there any way to accommodate auto-start for one Application upon RDWeb sign-in? If you have any ideas please reply and let me know.

Thanks!
