I have three issues that revolve around end users having the ability to change their AD password using RD Web Access.
- Not being prompted password is expiring in 14 days when loading a session in RD Web.
- Not able to change password while in the session using ctrl+alt+end.
- Not able to change password when password has already expired with prevents login into RD Web.
I found some great forums that talked about this but none resolved my issue.
For my first issue users are not being prompted that their passwords are expiring when they launch a session in RD Web. This is important for us to allow the user to prevent their passwords from expiring and causing the end user to lose access to their account.
For the second issue, I had the user try ctrl+alt+end and when they try to change their password they are being prompted that they are not meeting the complexity requirement. I know they are because I created a dummy account and tried it myself. I receive the same error.
Lastly, when the user account password has expired they can not log into RD Web and have to seek my help on resetting password. I found a hotfix ( http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2648402 ) to allow this capability but it states to install the hotfix on the sessions server. I have one sessions server and two RD servers that both host the website. It would seem that the hotfix should go on the RD servers and not the sessions server. Can someone clarify this for me please? Here is the blog ( http://microsoftplatform.blogspot.com/2012/11/password-change-option-also-available.html ) describing this fix for those also interested in this.
